Sunday Evening

The day is winding down. Sunday evenings have always held for me a bit of melancholy. The sunset tonight was just full of pink and orange swirls on the darkening horizon. I'm sitting out in the courtyard of my home surrounded by twinkling candlelights. The evenings are getting cooler and shorter. I haven't seen any hummingbirds for some time. They've probably started their trek home to warmer climes.

Sitting here on the front porch overlooking the Ohio River, with the skyline of Cincinnati across from me with my family on this balmy September evening. I've lived here for most of my life and the view is never tiresome.
